This is all interesting stuff, too bad they dont include mollusk
species since we would all be a lot more familiar with those!

two interesting takeaways from my quick read:

the weight of those otter trawl doors-  395 kg !! (I assume that was
for EACH door).

When i worked on a trawler, as the haul was being lifted from the
bottom it was everybody's duty to shout "DOORS!"  as soon as they
became visible, because, in part you dont want to be smacked by a 385
kg piece of wood as the dredge is hauled around from the side.

It was also interesting that the abundance of the catch was the same
in the re-survey, even if the species composition was different.  From
what I've read and heard,  that would not  be the case here in the NE
USA.
