Sr. Rivero,

I would like to receive your papers (in Spanish).
Thanks indeed.

Subject: The use of biophysical models in Cuba

Dear ICASA and DSSAT List Members:

The Third International Congress on Rice Crop was recently held in Havana,
6 - 10 June 2005. In this meeting I had the pleasure of presenting there two
papers named "Optimum Sowing Dates for Rainfed Rice Crop" and "Integrated
Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Rice Production in Camagüey, Cuba".
They are both published in the Proceedings of this meeting, CD-ROM ISSN
 959 - 7164 - 91 - 4
I could be wrong of course, and maybe one of you could correct me on this,
but as far as I know these works are the first ones ever presented in my
country that made use of biophysical models to derive conclusions about
agricultural issues and have been presented in an agricultural congress. I
could say that they might be a collector item in the future.

I call your attention to this no because they are mine or specially useful,
but because I understand that this could be a first step toward promoting
and extending the practice of using biophysical models in scientifical
issues in my country and the agronomical community. I think that this is one
of our objectives as a community.

Anyone interested may obtain these works from me in Spanish language. But I
could do an English translation for someone interested if I'm asked for. No
compromise at all about this.

With my best wishes to you all,

Roger E. Rivero Vega
