practice, and economics

Dear colleagues,

this is to announce a new publication on "Frost protection: fundamentals,
practice and economics" by Richard L. Snyder, University of California,
Atmospheric Science Department of Land, Air and Water Resources, Davis,
California (USA), J. Paulo de Melo-Abreu, Technical University of Lisbon,
Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Departamento de Ciencias do Ambiente, Lisboa
(Portugal), Scott Matulich, Washington State University, Department of
Agricultural and Resource Economics, Washington State University, Pullman
(USA).

This new two-volume publication describes the physics and biology of frost
occurrence and damage, passive and active protection methods and how to
assess the cost-effectiveness of active protection techniques. Computer
application programs (in Microsoft Excel) are included in the CD-ROM to help
simplify complex calculations; sample calculations are presented in the text.

The publication can be requested free of charge from
[log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] and providing your mailing
address.

Best regards,

Michele Bernardi
