pleasure to inform you that Association of Agrometeorologists and G.B. Pant
University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUA&T), Pantnagar are jointly
organizing International Symposium on “New-Dimensions in Agrometeorology for
Sustainable Agriculture (NASA-2014)” during 16-18 October, 2014 at Pantnagar, India.
You would be aware that Association of Agrometeorologists is providing
inter-institutional platform for sharing innovative ideas and instituted
various awards to encourage research in Agrometeorology. Association is
currently having more than 900 life members and many annual members. On other
hand, GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology is the First and Foremost Agriculture
University in India. Pantnagar is located in
foothills of Himalayas and provides picturesque panorama of mighty Himalayas and other exciting landscapes. 

The symposium is being
organized at a time, when there are creeping issues related to environmental
problems affecting agricultural production. Also there are challenges before
Agricultural Scientists to feed the growing population. The vagaries in monsoon
have further intensified challenges being faced by farming community. It is
expected that a large number of scientists, academia, policy makers, research
scholars and students of different disciplines ranging from Agriculture to
Technology, Veterinary Science and Basic Sciences from across the world will
