Thank you all for the input.  I think the main message is that it is helpful to have a series to look at changes over time, and especially for locations close to your location.  



We have the space in our remote location, but most of the maps were not cataloged.  So we trying to make quick records and then use the requests for access to determine the usage of the collection.  And it really seems that most of our users are doing it for classroom activities.  



I really appreciate the community's response and willingness to help a newbie!

Currently, we keep past issues of Utah and surrounding states for the record of historical change.  True, one can also find all editions online, but some folks still like to have the physical maps side by side for comparison.

Hello All -



I have recently become the liaison for several departments and am taking care of our print map collection as part of my duties. I am a complete novice here.  We are planning to move most of the collection to an off-campus site.  This is an opportunity to weed, and I wondered if folks keep copies of photorevised maps.  I was thinking to just keep the most recent.  Is there a reason to keep the older ones?
