UGA BREAKS RECORD FOR ENROLLMENT, FROSH SAT
SCORES: Two of the longest-standing admissions and academic
ceilings in UGA history were exceeded this fall as enrollment broke
31,000 and the freshman SAT average topped 1200.

EXTERNAL RESEARCH FUNDING TOPS $100 MILLION
MILESTONE: For the first time, UGA exceeded $100 million in
external research funding during the past fiscal year.  Research
funding is up sharply in the first quarter of the current year.

CANDIDATES FOR VP FOR RESEARCH VISIT CAMPUS: Four
finalists have been named for vice president for research,
succeeding Joe Key. The candidates are visiting campus between

NEW MASTER'S PROGRAM OFFERED IN NON-PROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS: A new multidisciplinary program leading to a
master's degree in non-profit organizations will be offered for the
first time in January 2001.

ALUMNI RECEIVE BLUE KEY AWARD: State Board of Education
Chairman Otis Brumby, former Gov. Joe Frank Harris, UGA
