For those using scanners...

I think that scanners and resolution were
discussed a while back. An important point
to bear in mind is to search your scanner's
technical data and find what its 'native'
resolution is (how many actual pixel-resolving
sensors are on the scanner's sensor).

This is the "best" resolution to scan at. Choosing
higher resolutions only causes algorithms (i.e.,
software) to 'create' the additional information.

My scanner's 'native' resolution is 300 pixels/inch.
Be wary of the hyped-up resolutions that advertisements
mention.
