I'm running into some problems naming some murexes I have.  Some references give the genus as Chicoreus, while others give Murex, Phyllonotus, or Hexaplex.  In particular, the shells I'm looking at are C. brassica, C. erythrostomas, and C. nobilis.  I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the history behind the use of the different genus names, and which is the one currently the most popular to use.  Thanks!
