When Art talks about the "basil" ridge, this is in recognition of the Latin influence with its use of herbs in the cooking of tasty sauces in the Appenine Mountains.

Art reminds us that there is a "basal" ridge, or spiral thread, that is found towards the bottom of the last whorl of some of the wentletraps. That helps to distinguish some of our wentletrap finds.
