Phil,

I know that the new Chapter 3 of AACR2 (2002 "edition") was implemented as
of December 1st at LC so I believe that you are now allowed to enter
coordinates as decimal degrees instead of degrees/minutes/seconds in your
bib. records if you want. However, I am not at all sure if OCLC is ready to
accept this kind of input in their workforms? Something I should check on
too, but hoping Ellen Caplan may see your question and respond...

Am I correct in believing that we are not yet permitted to enter decimal
degrees in the MARC 034 field in OCLC?  No examples of this practice are
given in OCLC's MARC field help, but there are examples in LC's MARC 21
