I have a question that I hope someone here with a genetic background might help me with. I have wondered for many years about members of the Conus genus. That is why many different species seemigly at random contain pustulate forms in the genus. I suspect that there is a single genetic switch, or homeobox control unit, that is common across the Conus. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any studies in the mechanism that controls this phenotype. Forgive me, I'm a microbiologists and molecular biologist, and really don't know a lot about the genetics of mollusks-I hope that someone out here does. It's worth a post anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] - a forum for informal discussions on molluscs To leave this list, click on the following web link: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=conch-l&A=1 Type your email address and name in the appropriate box and click leave the list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
