Painted mappa are used for faked aurantiums but the light yellow color is caused by slow heating a real Golden in a electric ricepot filled with rubbing alcohol. The boiling temperature of alcohol is much lower than water so less noticeable heat-induced stress cracks are visible though the color change is characteristic of heating color pygments.
