Dear Cone Lovers, Over my many years of collecting these wonderful shells one thing has always puzzled me. Why are there specimens that are granulose and others that are not, even though they are the same species? I have granulose specimens of a number of species: Conus arenatus Conus aurisiacus Conus chiangi Conus circumcisus Conus legatus Conus magus to name a few. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. All the best, Jim Cootes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] - a forum for informal discussions on molluscs To leave this list, click on the following web link: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=conch-l&A=1 Type your email address and name in the appropriate box and click leave the list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
