Aloha, They are the same species. Even though ventricosa has a earlier published date the correct species name is regarded as cabriti. Before the rule-of-thumb regarded Madagascar specimens as ventricosa & African species as cabriti. I've noticed the deeper-forms off Somalia tend to be of dwarfish stature compared to the shallow-water specimens. Also African cabriti tend to be lighter shaded, on the orange side of the color spectrum, than the darker Madagascar Harps. Mind you this is a generalized observation. Hope it helps. Mahalo!
