Hi, listservers My great-aunt had a few shells when I was little and I thought they were pretty. Now I want to collect some and learn about them. Is there a book that is considered a good introduction for learning? I would like to learn about the animals themselves, and how to collect shells and how to identify them. The other question is, I saw two very pretty shells on ebay, a Muricanthus radix and a Tonna sulcosa, they are so nice. But how do you know what is a fair price on them? I'm already outbid on the Murex, but really want it, but don't know how much to offer. Is ebay even a good place to buy shells? Thanks for your wise advice!
