I recommend screening sand at the surf line at Atlantic Beach, NC near Morehead City. Shells seem to accumulate there under a thin layer of sand. Interesting miniatures and some shark teeth come up. Pieces of the Trent formation, a lower Miocene limestone, wash up with the tides and present molds of mollusks.
