I'm looking for information on the natural histories/life habits and ranges of Tricolia affinis and Cerithium litteratum. Here is why: I've got a site in St. Croix, USVI where I resampled the same transect as a previous study (1980) in 2002. At the time of original sampling, Cerithium litteratum was highly abundant. During resampling, Cerithium litteratums was absent and the population of Tricolia had increased dramatically. This is recorded in the shell assemblage despite time-averaging. I'm working on finishing an article on this and am interested in literature or other sources of info on these two taxa and on the current taxonomy of Eulithidium (used to be Tricolia). I'm currently using Abbot 1974 and Redfern 2001 in conjunction but they don't include much in the way of habitat/environmental prefs (aside from seagrass...). Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] - a forum for informal discussions on molluscs To leave this list, click on the following web link: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=conch-l&A=1 Type your email address and name in the appropriate box and click leave the list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
