I would like to remind everyone to please use appropriate Nettiquite when re-posting posts from the conch-l list to other lists or web sites. If you wish to re-post something someone posted to conch-l you need to get the permission of the person who posted it FIRST. Actually, it is more then just Nettiquite. Posts to the list, like any other original fixed and tangible work are protected under copyright laws. Please be considerate to other list subscribers and ASK FIRST. A safer alternative to re-posting numerous individual emails would be to write a synopsis of the text/discussion citing authors and conch-l, with dates and providing a link to the first post in the thread. This is esentially writting an article and giving credit to the source. I believe there are some excellent examples of how to cite on-line information on the web: http://webliminal.com/search/search-web13.html One final note on this subject. Subscribers may not want their email addresses included in posts on public web pages. Spiders, robots and other search engines roam the internet gathering up email addresses which are then used to send spam and virus. Something to think about. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] - a forum for informal discussions on molluscs To leave this list, click on the following web link: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=conch-l&A=1 Type your email address and name in the appropriate box and click leave the list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
