Have any of you seen this recent story? I heard a report on the BBC that implies that a very large area of the oceans (I am guessing Pacific as I only heard part of the story) are becoming unproductive, ie. photosynthesis from plankton is greatly reduced. I have not yet seen where these areas are, but one would assume that there would be a rapid decrease in animal life in these areas. I was wondering about some of the postings I've read here that had suggested that several islands in the Pacific were seening large decreases in Conus species. Possible connection? I found the reference below; will check it out myself.
