A couple of interesting finds on a beautiful day up in NY (temp. between 65- 70 degrees F) -a hermit crab in a very fresh Cepaea nemoralis (land snail), first time I ever noticed a hermit crab in the Northeast in a land shell. I have seen some in Florida/Caribbean, where I would say land snails are generally more frequent and/or washed out to sea more often? -a decent sized (15mm) fresh dead, late-season Haminoea solitaria- Still glossy and with periostracum. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] - a forum for informal discussions on molluscs To leave this list, click on the following web link: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=conch-l&A=1 Type your email address and name in the appropriate box and click leave the list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
