Dear ConchLers,

At the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History of the Tel Aviv University in I=
srael we are currently incorporating the mollusk collection of the late Shm=
uel Matalon in the general mollusk collection.
Most of the marine shells had been acquired by him during the years 1962-19=
68. Probably the bulk of his collection was bought from shell dealers among=
 them Victor Dan.
Although Shmuel Matalon was living in Israel when he died, less than 1% of =
all the shells is supplied with an Israeli locality. Therefore we think tha=
t the collection was assembled when he was living abroad but we have now id=
ea where. Therefore we are looking among the older collectors for ConchLers=
 who had ever any contact with Shmuel Matalon.
