The successful candidate will be involved in one or more of the projects related to:

  1. Expanding the already developed DeNitrification DeComposition (DNDC) ecosystem model for the Western Lake Erie Basin for an improved understanding of crop health and nutrient dynamics in the agricultural production system.
  2. Modeling integrated crop-livestock system using an existing model.
  3. Developing machine learning models for crop health identification and classification by integrating UAV and satellite images with field-based observations.

The successful candidate is expected to publish research findings in international peer-reviewed journals, present research findings in conferences/meetings, generate regular project update reports, assist in grant proposal writing, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and assist with other research activities, as needed. The candidate should have strong analytical, statistical, organizational, and planning skills, and is expected to work independently as well as in a team.
