A postdoctoral research associate position is available on a project with NASA, USDA-NASS and USDA-ARS. It is an interdisciplinary project which will couple agroecosystem models, crop
growth models, land surface models, and machine learning models. The selected candidate will work on developing data-driven tools that integrate process-based crop modeling, compiling historical weather and environmental/agronomic/remotely sensed data to develop
database required by crop growth models, and predict crop production at different spatial scales under changing soil and climate in the United States. The successful candidate is expected to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, present results
in professional conferences, and assist in writing proposals. This position will provide an exceptional professional development opportunity in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. The appointment will be for 2-3 years depending on performance.
Qualifications: Ph.D. (or ABD) in Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, Hydrology, Agronomy or a closely related field. Knowledge of programming (e.g., FORTRAN, C/C++, R, Python),
GIS, agroecosystem modeling (e.g., APEX, DSSAT), or remote sensing is preferred.
