*Position description*
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Plant Physiology and Genetics unit
in Maricopa, Arizona, is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE,
(Agricultural Engineer/ Ecologist/ Agronomist) for a TWO-YEAR APPOINTMENT.
The incumbent will work on the USDA administrator-funded post-doc project,
which focuses on understanding the CO2 offset potential under cover
cropping systems in the U.S. The objectives for the incumbent are to
coordinate with collaborators to gather CO2 flux observations under cover
crop management practices collected at USDA LTAR and GRACEnet field sites,
and lead modeling efforts. This position requires US citizenship [or
permanent residency (Green Card) with intent to become a citizen].
Applicants should have recently earned a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering,
ecology, environmental science, agronomy, or a similar discipline.
Experience with process-based crop models like EPIC, DSSAT, or APSIM, as
well as remote sensing data, is desired. To request more information and
