Position Summary: The BioSystems Analysis Lab<https://bsal.osu.edu/> (BSAL) in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Ohio State University invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate (postdoc) positions. The successful candidate will be involved in projects related to: 1) lignocellulosic biomass and organic waste processing and management; 2) ecosystem modeling; 3) techno-economic and life cycle analyses. The postdoc is expected to publish research findings in international peer-reviewed journals, present research findings in conferences/meetings, generate regular update reports, assist in grant proposal writing, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and assist with other research activities, as needed. Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Agricultural, Biosystems, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or the other related disciplines (Environmental Sciences) is needed. Experience in at least one of the related areas, including biomass and waste handling and upgrading, biogeochemical modeling, process modeling, techno-economic analysis, and life cycle assessment (LCA) is needed. Familiarity with U.S. agricultural production systems is desirable. Other desirable qualities include the ability to learn/adopt skills and knowledge in solving "real-world" problems, creative and independent research abilities with a team-work perspective, and strong oral and written communication skills. Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with experience, and benefits will be as per the Ohio State University policies. Anticipated Starting Term: As soon as possible (Open until filled). Initial appointment will be for 1 year with the possibility of extension for additional years based on performance and availability of funds.
