How to Make Your Own Map Librarian Job
While there are only a limited number of map and GIS librarian positions advertised on USAJobs, Indeed, and LinkedIn, there are an infinite number of ways you can introduce maps and GIS into library jobs. In this
session, you will hear about one librarian's journey from GIS enthusiast to map librarian.
Who should attend:
LIS students, early-career librarians, librarians making a career change, and entrepreneurial librarians will all find ideas that they can apply to their own work.
Topics covered will include:
Erin Cheever is an Associate Research Librarian at UL Research Institutes, a safety science research organization. She received her MLIS degree from The Catholic University of America. Prior to beginning her current
position, she worked as a contract librarian at federal science libraries.
