Good Afternoon Teachers,

Below are the details for the Central Region Floriculture CDE that will take place on
Area 4 - Tuesday, Nov 28, 2023, at West Laurens High School in the lunchroom 
Registration will start at 4:00, and contest will start at 4:30 

Area 3 - Thursday, Nov 30, 2023 at Camp John Hope - Tabor Auditorium 
Due to the volume of teams, we will have 2 start times for Area 3.
Up to 20 junior and up to 20 senior teams can go at 1:00, and the remaining teams will compete as usual at 4:30.
This 1:00 start time is completely optional; any and all teams can compete at 4:30 if needed. 

The FFA Floriculture Career Development Event is designed to stimulate career interest, encourage proficiency development, and recognize excellence in students of floriculture production and maintenance through the agriculture education curriculum.

Eligibility      
Junior: This event is a four (4) person team that is open to students in grades 6-9 who are agricultural education students, and are paid members of a chartered FFA chapter. 

Senior: This event is a four (4) person team that is open to students in grades 9-12 who are agricultural education students, and are paid members of a chartered FFA chapter.

Registration

*There is a 3 week registration window -- the deadline is November 13th, 2023  by 6:00pm for both Area 3 & 4 CDEs.

*All students must be pre-registered through the GA Ag Ed website

To register for the CDE.

Go to the AG. Ed. Website and log in.

Click on Event Registration.

Click on Region FFA Floriculture CDE Registration.

Event Format 
Junior participants will 
  • take a 25-question multiple-choice general knowledge exam 
  • and identify 25 plant specimens.
 
The senior participants will  
  • take a 25-question multiple-choice general knowledge exam  
  • solve 5 multiple choice problem-solving questions 
  • and identify 25 plant specimens.
  • as well as identify 10 plant disorders
