Job Overview: The Map and Geospatial Information Librarian is responsible for overseeing the East View Geospatial (EVG) Geodata Team and its operations. This includes directly supervising up to five (5) individuals. This role reports directly to the EVG Director of Operations. This is an on-site position. Responsibilities: * Oversees the workflows of the metadata team in EVG. This includes assigning tasks, reviewing work, giving feedback, providing training, and tracking the department's progress. * Writes performance reviews and is directly involved in all tasks associated with supervising employees. * Manage various short- and long-term departmental projects relating to the digital platformization of EVG products. * Sets up and maintains organized and reliable metadata of maps and geospatial information. * Directs metadata collection efforts and metadata structures. * Responsible for managing the intake process for newly acquired maps and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data. * Collaborates with IT, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure their data needs and format requests are being met. * Manages Headquarters library permanent collection. * Oversees EVG map approval plans. Qualifications: * Master's degree, preferably in Library Information Sciences, or a related field. * Over three years of relevant professional experience (geospatial metadata management or Map Librarian and related fields). * Over two years in a supervisor role. * Strong proficiency in using GIS software such as QGIS and ESRI. * In-depth knowledge of map cataloging standards (e.g., ISO 19115 and MARC). * Experience utilizing database query languages, with a focus on SQL, to effectively retrieve and manipulate data. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and data manipulation skills. * Foreign language skills (Russian, Slavic, Arabic) at intermediate proficiency are considered a plus.
