Ag Teachers,

Thank you! Thank you for the work that you do to initiate and then develop student SAEs. Thank you for hours spend visiting projects, taking photos and discussing the value of keeping accurate records. Thank you for checking (and re-checking) over proficiency award applications until they are exactly right, for asking for help when you don’t understand and for getting them all turned in by February 1. What you do matters, and your young people are benefiting from your effort and passion. It’s an exciting day when we get to announce the results of our proficiency award applications and today is that day.

Attached is the announcement of the 2024 state proficiency award finalists. The Region results of proficiency award scoring have been announced, and all Region winners are State Finalists. Keep in mind that in proficiency award categories where a Region does not have an entry, a 2^nd place Regional application from the other Regions is eligible to be named a state finalist. Please double check the state finalist list carefully to be sure to know if your students are state finalists. Some students who placed 2^nd in their Region are state finalists.

The advisors of proficiency award finalists will receive more information about the state finalist interview process before March 1. All state finalists will have the opportunity to interview at the State FFA Convention on Thursday, April 25. Proficiency award final results will be announced on stage during sessions 3, 4 and 5 of the state convention.

State finalists should begin updating their applications based on feedback that they will receive from their Region judging process. All state finalist applications must be submitted in final form to the State Proficiency submission page by March 15. More information about that process will be shared soon.

Congratulations to these, and all students who submitted a proficiency award application in 2024. I look forward to seeing many of you in Perry later this week.
