The California Map Society and the David Rumsey Map Center are thrilled to announce the Third Annual Student Exhibition Competition, inviting all US-based students of higher education to curate an exhibition of maps based on a topic of their choice. This competition offers a unique opportunity for students to showcase their research and curatorial skills.

 

Application Deadline: April 12, 2024, 11:59 PM PST

 

Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled US-based undergraduate and graduate students. No prior curatorial experience required. Students from underrepresented groups in academia are encouraged to apply.

 

Timeline:

 

Award: The winner will receive installation of a physical exhibition at the Rumsey Center, hosting of a digital companion exhibition, a $1,000 award, support for related travel expenses, one-year membership in the California Map Society, and opportunities to present at their annual meetings.

 

How to Apply: Send an email to [log in to unmask] with the subject "Exhibition Competition Submission" by April 12, 2024. Attach a cover sheet and an exhibition concept proposal as PDFs.
