Subject: Scottish Maps Forum seminar: The Premodern Scottish Place (3 May 2024)

In our recent Cairt newsletter for January 2024 ( https://maps.nls.uk/cairt/cairt44.pdf ) we briefly mentioned our forthcoming Scottish Maps Forum seminar on 'The Premodern Scottish Place: Mapping, Chorography, History, Landscape, Literature' (3 May 2024).

We're pleased to say that there are now full details of the seminar at: https://maps.nls.uk/projects/place-and-poetry/seminar/, including a programme, speakers and abstracts. The seminar forms part of a collaborative project with the University of Bristol, on 'Place and Poetry in Pre-Modern Scotland'. The 'Place and Poetry' website will have a 'soft launch' on the day.

This will be a hybrid seminar, held in the National Library of Scotland's Causewayside Building in Edinburgh ( https://www.nls.uk/using-the-library/location-maps/#cb ), as well as online via Zoom.

Attendance is free, but you will need to reserve a place (at https://forms.office.com/e/2CNpNd7TgR ) if you wish to attend. Those who wish to attend in person are encouraged to do so soon, as spaces are limited.

Many thanks,

Chris
