Although "mapping" and "cartography" receive a lot of mention in contemporary literary criticism, it is usually as metaphors for representation rather than as part of a concern with actual maps. I was hoping some of you could help me with the cartographic/geographic dimensions of this project (although comments about the literary relationship would be most welcome). I am looking specifically for bibliography on the history of cartography in latin america (or of it) and for discussions of the ideological implications of map-making. Please e-mail me at [log in to unmask] I would be very grateful for your help and look forward to some conversation. Ricardo Padron
