----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Alice, do us all a favor, ask for a review copy and e-mail 25 words on it to Maps-L. I was handed something similar last week, done by Rand McNally maybe; price was more reasonable but still plenty scary. is there a pattern here? LC ----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Ummmm, we just received a flier for a $795.00 "Industrial atlas of the Soviet Successor States." Has 82 "detailed" topical maps of the CIS on 11 x 17" pages, how detailed can this be...? Publisher is Industrial Information Resources Inc, Houston TX Anybody have any knowledge of this firm, and quality of their publications? The format is sort of a "national atlas" look. The maps have a nice "CIA type" base with schematic/thematic maps over the base. The examples in the flier seem confusing and unclear to me. I would like to hear from other maps-l folk on your opinions... At this point, I am doubtful about our purchasing this. Despite the cute sticker promising a $100 discount. What do you think folks?
