Electronic Reference Publishing, Collection Development and Service in the 1990's Reference Books Bulletin ALA/Chicago Conference Program Program Information Program Description: Two reference librarians and four publishers will address the issues that are associated with reference titles that are published as CD-ROMs. The librarians will focus on the issues of service, collection development, security, and hardware; the publishers will focus on the their decision of what to publish in CD-ROM, how this decision is reached, the market they hope to reach, and the relationship/effect the CD-ROM has on the comparable print title. Each panelist will base their presentation on a list of questions/issues that were compiled by the Reference Books Bulletin Editorial Board. Program Day/Date: Monday, June 26, 1995 Program Time: 8:30 a.m. -- 11:00 a.m McCormick Place Complex Room E265 (East Building) Program Format: The moderator will begin the program with a brief overview of the objectives of the program, the format, and introduce the speakers. Each speaker will have 15-18 minutes for his/her presentation. The question and answer period will come at the very end, after all of the speakers have made their presentation. There will be approximately 30 minutes for questions and answers.
