ENVIRONMENTAL  MAPS OF THE BALTIC DRAINAGE AREA ONLINE
 
UNEP GRID-Arendal, together with the Beijer Institute and Department
of Systems Ecology, Stockholm University, Sweden,
are pleased to announce a Baltic Region wide
environmental map database online through WWW.
 
The maps are provided as *.GIF, *.TIF and *.EPS graphic files
 
The map database can be accessed via the GRID-Arendal WWW
homepage:
http://www.grida.no/
or directly at
http://www.grida.no/baltic/htmls/maps.htm
 
You will need a WWW browser such as Netscape or Mosaic
to view or download these maps (files).
 
The following maps exist:
- Countries
- Land Cover (6 classes)
- Meso-scale Drainage Basins (82 subbasins)
- Arable Land Distribution
- Pasture Land Distribution
- Population Density Distribution
- Wetland Distribution
 
The maps are designed for OH colour & b/w printing
(A4, Landscape).
 
The GIS database used to create these maps
are also available in ARC/INFO and IDRISI formats.
