New technology-based tools such as GPS are now becoming integrated into mainstream professional practice. This conference aims to explore the contribution that surveyors are making in the broader community by applying these new tools. Presentation Papers Oral presentations are sought from all areas of practice and research within the surveying profession. In addition to technical papers, contributions which describe the "broader community benefit" of surveying activities are encouraged. Display Papers It is intended to allocate a portion of the conference time to presentation of formal displays. The objective is to provide a more relaxed forum for the presentation of R & D activities occurring throughout the spatial sciences. Papers describing the displays will be published as part of the conference proceedings. Submissions are invited from students, individuals, companies, organisations or research groups who are conducting R & D activities of interest to the surveying profession. Two prizes (one reserved for full-time students) will be awarded for the best display presentations. Guidelines Interested persons should submit an abstract of between 200-500 words which fully summarises the proposed paper including any conclusions drawn. The paper should not have been published elsewhere. Abstracts should be in English, on A4 paper, include a brief biographical outline of the author/s (i.e. current and previous employment, experience) and contact details. They should also indicate whether the proposed presentation is an oral or display paper. All abstracts should be submitted by the 30th October 1995 to the address below.
