----------------------------Original message---------------------------- I just received the following flier from karen McKeachie (Bill Stewart Legal Defense Committee Treasurer, 802 Granger, Ann Arbor MIl 48104): "Bill was sentenced on September 8 to 30 months in a low security federal prison. After six weeks in a local county jail in Alexandria, Bill was moved to Camp McKean in Bradford, PA. This is a minimum security federal corrections facility but it is still not without lots of security and an enormous number of rules. Bill was fortunate to land an indoor job and now is gainfuly employed at $0.25 an hour. In his spare time Bill is allowed to run, read, play cards, etc. He is running a fair amount but must be careful about injuries; Bill is only allowed to run in shoes purchased at the prison. It isn't hard to decide which shoes to get; there are only two models available. Since the sentencing in May, Bill has hired an excellent and well-respected defense attorney in Virginia. This attorney, William Moffitt, is currently working on two appeals. ... You may send Bill letters or cards. You may include newspaper clippings, magazine articles, paperback books (NO hardcovers) and pictures (NO Polaroids) if you wish.
