----------------------------Original message---------------------------- I suggest - post this message to MapHist and specify your query a bit more: What kind of maps? For what kind of study you need the information. There is of course a lot of literature on those maps. - according to Who's who in the History of Cartography (D7) (D8 is published yet, but I don't have it here at home) the mapping of Brazil is one of the research subjects of Alfredo Pinheiro Marques, Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Coimbra, 3049 Coimbra Codex, Portugal. I think he works on the Portuguese maps of Brazil. - on the Dutch maps of Brazil a work is done by Dutch maphistorians, recently a.o. by Dirk de Vries and Kees Zandvliet. A lot of information is to be found in works on the Van Keulen firm and on the Dutch East- and West India Companies etc. >----------------------------Original message---------------------------- >Please send me more information about old maps from Brazil (1500~1700) > > +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Dr Peter van der Krogt FRW-Cartography University of Utrecht Mijerstraat 20 P.O.
