It has 18 X 24 paper as well as 11 X 17 & *.5 X 11. It is definitely self-serve and we use it with a coin-op as well as a card connection. It hasnt been too bad. The serviceman has to be called about once every 3 months but we lease it and have service contract so are probably getting our money's worth. Hope this helps Joan Winearls Map Librarian Tel: 416 978-1958 University of Toronto Library e-mail: [log in to unmask] Toronto M5S 1A5 Fax: 416 978-7653 -------------------------------------------------------------- >Date: Mon, 06 May 96 08:10:06 CST >From: "Arlyn Sherwood" <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: Re: photocopiers for maps The Illinois State Library Map Room has just the 11 x 17 option on a book copier and the Xerox 2510 engineering copier (which I understand they don't sell anymore). And I am the entire map room staff. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ >Subject: photocopiers for maps >Author: Maps and Air Photo Systems Forum <[log in to unmask]> at SOS08410 >Date: 5/3/96 6:19 PM ----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We are currently looking into purchasing a new photocopier for Cleveland Public Library's Map Collection. We are now using an older copier with 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17 in. options. We understand that at one time Mita manufactured a photocopier that handled 18 x 24 in. paper. We couldn't locate it from the selection on their homepage and are waiting for a call from their sales office. Does anyone in Mapland have any experience with such a photocopier? Or have any other suggestions for large format without stepping up to an engineering copier? The Xerox 2515 seems to be the engineering copier of choice by map collections. We were looking for something a little more "self-serve" since our staff is small (space is also a problem). Any helpful hints appreciated.
