AN OPEN INVITATION The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) invites all interested parties to an open meeting to discuss and refine the 1996 Strategy for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. The meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois on \||||||||||||||||||||||||/ - NOVEMBER 7 and 8, 1996. - /||||||||||||||||||||||||\ Details below. Read the 1996 Strategy for the NSDI The 1996 strategy updates the 1994 plan for the NSDI. The 1996 strategy was drafted with input from the various communities that create, produce, maintain, and share geospatial data. The goals and objectives set forth in the draft strategy are now undergoing broad public review. After the goals and objectives are agreed on, these communities of interest will cooperatively develop implementation plans to guide their NSDI activities for the next several years. Responses made to the FGDC by October 30 will be consolidated and made available for the public discussion of the strategy at a special meeting in Chicago, November 7 and 8, 1996.
