----------------------------Original message---------------------------- See: J. Landwehr, VOC A bibliography of publications relating to the Dutch East India Company 1602-1800. Utrecht: HES Publishers, 1991, pp. 353-360, for a bibliography of his work and a list of maps and plates in each of the different editions. In the literature a German work of 1922 is mentioned, but as far as I know there are some biographical notes in Kolb's books (at least a portrait in the Dutch translation of 1727 - the original German work appeared in 1719). On the titlepage is said that Peter Kolb was rector of the 'illustre' school in Neustadt an der Aisch. P.S. This was more a question for MapHist (maybe you will have more success there).
