Interesting. Now we have fake fakes to contend with authentic fakes. As to
tulip bulbs, you can at least eat them.
 
It is particularly intriguing that this is the only fake wentletrap whose
owner has been named in this thread. As Mr. Reagan used to say (about
missiles, not collectors), "Trust, but verify." I'm sorry, but without
verification, a story is just a story: an urban legend, if you will.
 
Anyone who can photograph a fake wentletrap, even one made yesterday, would
have a great subject for an article in the American Conchologist.
