People, you are drifting. COA can oppose beach renourishment in principle, but that's not a fair contest. What we CAN do effectively and inexpensively is to educate the public, particularly those who are active in influencing environmental legislation, of the effects on mollusks of beach renourishment, development, sewage, etc. If these effects are well known, then it will be a lot harder for legislators to blame shell collectors for molluscan declines. Let the environmental groups do the heavy work and hire attorneys. Just make sure that they have the facts. Andrew K. Rindsberg
