Dear all, for anyone familiar with the Fort Pickens area,
I have a question. It is fairly cool down here in Pensacola.
I went to Fort Pickens yesterday and I managed to locate some
grass beds. I scooped the beds with a hand net but I did not bring up
the expected Turbo castanea or Conus jaspideus. Does the cold have
something
to do with this? I have found turbo peices washed up, but I have never
found one live.
Also, could I find limpets or chitons on the jetties? I went there also,
but I just found Plicatula
gibbosa and slipper shells. I do suspect it's the cold, and if it is let
me know.
