I've attached this year's order form. It is similar to the form we've used the past few years in the fact that *you should only type in the yellow colored cells*. As a reminder, there are two tabs in the worksheet. The one you'll see when you open the file is the "Spring Seedling Form." This is where you'll find the seeded items (smaller size when you get them). The second tab is the "Spring Rooted Cuttings" tab. This is where you will find rooted cuttings (larger sized plants). Note: there are multiple tray sizes offered on many plants, this
Just a reminder that Spring Plant orders are due this week!

As I mentioned at our teacher meeting at GVATA, our August teacher meeting will be held virtually. In an attempt to keep work related activities within the confines of the working day as much as possible, I am asking you to provide me with feedback as to your preferred start time for the meeting. Please keep in mind that we have a large number of schools in the region with a variety of start and end times, and so it will be impossible to accommodate everyone's preference.
Prevention: Keep weeds (seed, rhizomes, tubers, etc.) out of the greenhouse by using sterile media, introducing only "clean" plant materials, and controlling the weeds outside of the greenhouse. Where possible, *screen vents and other openings* to limit the introduction of windblown seed as well as flying pests. Again - Clorox can be your best weapon! Use a 1:10 solution to spray down floors, growing benches, drip containers in and wipe propagation tools. Clorox is a very corrosive product. Zerotol is another option available from vendors like Griffin Greenhouse Supplies and BWI.
This is just a basic help guide for the average school grower, I realize some of you are much more extensive with your greenhouse and if you have other specific questions, please let me know.
*Bedding plants/ annuals* (fall) ordered from North Region come 288 flats to a plug tray. If you plant these in Jumbo 606s you will get about 8 flats per plug tray. These are usually sold 100 per case. You will also need the web flats (the trays that hold the insert). Another alternative is planting those in 1801 which will give you 18 individual plants

For time's sake, here are the 89 manuscripts we have received. If your student is missing, please let me know asap. I will be sending out a final registration list for all speaking events (creed, extemp, and prepared) later today.
Registration for the preliminary speaking events closes Monday 2/12/24. This includes Creed, Extemporaneous, Junior and Senior Prepared Public Speaking. It is important that we have accurate information at that point, as we need to work with our host schools on securing enough speaking rooms and judges with each event.
