For those who may not yet be aware of it, the most recent issue of
Canadian Geographic contains a new map of the Northwest Territories.
Scale is 1:4,000,000.  It shows oil, gas, and proposed gas pipelines;
regional boundaries (including land claim seettlements) and notes that
these are in "a process of evolution"; land classification; parks and
sanctuaries; mineral deposits, producing and "past producing" mines;
and more. The map includes the western part of Nunavut.
Interestingly, the publisher is shown as "John L. Thomson", and not
Canadian Geographic.

On the verso is an oblique satellite mosaic of the NWT and adjoining
part of Nunavut with an ice covered Arctic Ocean extending to the
curved horizon at the top. This image was generated by WorldSat
International.

If your library is not a subscriber to Canadian Geographic, or if your
periodicals section is reluctant to forward the map to the map
collection, copies may be ordered from Canadian Geographic at
1-800-267-0824 or you can buy it online at www.cnadiangeographic.ca .
