A new 3d edition of the Guide to U.S. Map Resources has just been
published by Scarecrow Press. Edited by Chris Thiry (Map librarian
at the Colorado School of Mines) for the Map and Geography Round
Table of ALA, the Guide is the first new edition of this standard
reference work to appear in 15 years.

The new Guide provides detailed descriptions of over 600 map
collections throughout the nation, and includes information on
holdings, hours, staffing, physical facilities, services, contact
information, and subject strengths.

Ordering and additional information about the new Guide may be
obtained from the Scarecrow Press Web site: http://
