Historical Atlas of Henderson and Union Counties, Kentucky 1880

http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/ky_map/hnd_uni_ky_index.html

This abridged Atlas CD contains high resolution digital images of
vintage 1880 Henderson and Union county Kentucky maps that are presented
in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). All 1880 Henderson and Union
county precinct maps are included on this CD, as are a number of city,
town and village plan maps from this period.

The Henderson and Union county atlas also contains: Table of Distances
and Population, Outline Plan of Henderson County, Outline Plan of Union
County, (7) pages of County History Patrons Directory (Henderson-3
pages), (Union-3 pages); as well as illustrations of prominent
residences and structures including Alloway, John F., Clemments, Walter,
Elam, W. S., Hughes, D. H., Kelsey, P. G. (& Co.), Rankin & Martin,
Norman, A. W., Peters, Jacob, Simpson, James, Soaper, William, St.
Vincent's Academy.

Station, Smith's Mills, Spotsville and Zion P.O.

Waverly. Village and town maps of Union county in this atlas: Bordley,
Boxville, Caseyville, Commercial Point, Dekovan, Hitesville,
Morganfield, Mulfordtown, Raleigh, Uniontown and Waverly.

Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no
exception; however, by virtue of the Adobe PDF formatting, these
documents may be inspected at high levels of magnification without
additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be
accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies. Follow these
links for examples of Precinct and Village maps.

Each map includes many 19th century features such as:

* toll roads, railroads and canals
* post offices and government sites
* schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries
* rivers, streams and ferries
* race tracks, fair grounds and picnic groves
* industrial sites, furnaces and mills
* early property ownership, homesteads and farms
-and much more

The abridged Historical Atlas of Henderson and Union Counties, Kentucky
may be an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians and researchers in
search of 19th century Henderson and Union County places and place
names. These early maps often contain many places that no longer exist
or that have been obscured over time; the location of property owners,
businesses, churches and cemeteries may assist genealogical researchers
interested in Kentucky history.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and
print from the PDF map images contained in this atlas; and is included
free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been
created and configured using the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat
Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be
viewed in earlier versions of the software as well; however, optimum use
of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included
on this CD.
