Subject: pre-1955 chadwick quadrangle

I have had a request from a local landowner for an edition of the
Chadwick Missouri topographic quadrangle that pre dates the standard
1955 edition. This person is having a property boundary dispute with
the U.S. Forest Service and the boundary was established long before
1955. Have any of you experienced this kind of request? I get them
fairly often. There is a lot of private land ownership inside the Mark
Twain National Forest boundaries. Property boundary disputes come about
because the NFS is now selling timber, and because of poorly kept or
missing plats.

I told this person that even if an old topo exists, its not likely to
help his cause, but I told him I'd ask you Maps-L folks to see if an old
Chadwick Missouri quadrangle exists. In my collection, there is no old
15' quad covering that area. Riley Moffat's index shows only the old
Forsyth 30' quad as coverage for that area, which I showed this guy, but
its too small a scale and too old to show the detail he's after.
Thanks for your help,
Jim
