OldAerialPhotos.com have acquired what is believed to be the very first
aerial survey of London. The survey was undertaken by the Royal Flying
Corps in 1917. A series of vertical aerial photographs were captured
following the path of the River Thames, taking in such sights as The
Tower of London, Crystal Palace, The Docklands and the now demolished
Joyce Green Hospital.

These images can now be viewed and bought online through
OldAerialPhotos.com search facility. The map of the River Thames below
shows the position of the images that are available to view and buy
online for £60.

As part of this amazing find OldAerialPhotos.com have also acquired
another set of photographs taken between 1917 and 1919, which were part
of an album kept by a Royal Fusilier in the British Army. The photos
offer a wonderful insight into life in the multi-national North Russian
Relief Force depicting the British 35th Royal Fusiliers, Royal Navy and
the newly formed RAF during the Russi! an Civil War. The collection
includes iconic images of buildings, trenches, aircraft and military
personnel. The photographs are also available to buy through
OldAerialPhotos at full resolution by calling 01530 518 528 and speaking
to one of OldAerialPhotos.com experts.

There's an index to the 1917 photos at
